Skołyszyn, Poland 24 th -27 th of January, 2022 - Physical Health
The fourth LTT activity, organised in Poland between 24th to 28th of January 2022, where participants discussed about Physical Health, combined physical mobility (Romania, Italy and Spain) with virtual exchanges as the Greek and Turkish partners couldn’t participate because of Covid-19 restrictions in their countries and because of the pandemic situation.
The mobility offered its participants a wide variety of activities allowing to both learn and practice methods of caring about Physical Health. All the planned activities were intended to both show the theoretical and practical sides of physical health care.
On the first day, all partners presented the effects of their local work activities and showed presentations on the topic “What is Physical Health?”. Each delegation also had the opportunity to teach the other participants dances, popular in their own countries. They also participated in modern dances workshops with a dance trainer. The Greek and the Turkish team took part in these activities, practicing these dances even if they were online.
A management meeting was organized where coordinators and teachers discussed about the activities of the week. On the second day all, participants went skating at an indoor skating rink as an activity to care about physical health. And in the afternoon, they watched online the visit to the rehabilitation center in Skołyszyn, which was an opportunity to see and experience activities and medical equipment used to help people return to physical health. After that they had a debate about “The Meaning of Physical Health”.
The third day was devoted to city games as outdoor activities for physical health. It was a good occasion to learn about Physical Health and its importance for our wellbeing.
On the fourth day, international Erasmus+ sports contests were organized in the schools gyms and its participants received prizes. On the fifth day, the partners shared their national presentations of the physical health questionnaire results. Later they worked on preparation of common presentations about how to care about physical health including suggested activities, examples and conclusions illustrated with pictures and recordings from the activities carried out within the mobility.
After the group work, they presented the effects of their work. A management meeting was organized and an evaluation questionnaire was applied. The headteacher handed out the certificates of attendance. Physical health is defined as the condition of your body, taking into consideration everything from the absence of disease to fitness level. Physical wellbeing involves pursuing a healthful lifestyle to decrease the risk of disease. Maintaining physical fitness, for example, can protect and develop the endurance of a person`s breathing and heart function, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition.
Experts widely consider exercise, good nutrition, relaxation and sleep crucial to healthy living. While these so-called “four pillars” of good health help keep your body running, they also do wonders for your emotional well-being. Students who are physically active tend to have better grades, school attendance, cognitive performance like memory, and classroom behavior's. Higher physical activity and physical fitness levels are associated with improved cognitive performance like concentration and memory among students.
